Antique Glass Fruit from my glass collection will be donated to (PAWS)-Prescott Area Women's Shelter for their Fall Fundraiser. The Value of this collection is $85.00. Note that the light green apple in the front of this photo stands from bottom to stem 4 inches.  - This organization is for one of my favorite non-profits and I'm sure someone will love this collection of hand blown glass fruit as much as I do. Now, information about the fundraiser. Put this on your calendar and plan on attending. It will be a fun and productive evening.

Lampwork Wine Glass - Bandhu Scott Dunham - PAWS 2011 Fall Fundraiser

 

 

 Lampwork Long Stem Wine Glass created by local glass artist Bandhu Scott Dunham.

I purchased this wine glass during a lampworking class a few years ago taught by Bandhu Scott Dunham and the glass has been in my collection since then. I watched Bandhu create this glass and the long flowing branches are what attracted me.

Now, it is time to let this glass help women in Yavapai Country I am using it as a great donation to PAWS.  It will adorn another table, the fundraiser silent auction at The Prescott Area Woman's Shelter Fall 2011 Fundraiser. This is a great fundraiser of the year and it is so a lot of fun.

This long stem Wine glass is valued at $150.

Now a about the glass artist, Bandhu Scott Dunham

Salusa Glassworks is the studio of international glass artist, Bandhu Dunham. Salusa Glassworks, Incorporated is also the publisher of Bandhu's highly acclaimed textbook, Contemporary Lampworking: A Practical Guide to Shaping Glass in the Flame, (now in its third edition) as well as the beautiful and informative showcase book, Formed of Fire. Bandhu's newest book Creative Life, will be available in the Spring of 2005.

In addition to creating his own one-of-a-kind glass sculptures and goblets, Bandhu supervises his apprentices in creating unusual gift items and decorations of his design, highlighted under "Studio Production".

Penny's Purses, Prescott at The Good Yarn & Fiber Creek Relocation

 

 

Penny's Purses writes:

The Good Yarn is more than a yarn shop, it is a good neighbor in our community and a great booster of Penny's Purses.  Thanks to the generosity of The Good Yarn owners, Debra and Carma, Penny's Purses had front door space in the grand opening of their new shop (with lots of parking space).  We sold 10 purses to help support the Prescott Area Women's Shelter - PAWS.  Who would have ever thought that a small idea, to memorialize one of the shelter women by making purses in her name, would turn into on-going financial help for women in need of shelter and support?  

Our purses are little works of art that show the creativity and ingenuity of a small and wonderful group of volunteers.  We will keep you posted as to our next sale.  In the meantime we have a small stock of purses at the Bead It shop on Whiskey Row in the back of Jenny Longhorn's.  Love to have you stop by and see them.

I found this drop beaded bracelet on Face Book this morning. I love to use drop beads and this is just another idea how to use them.

Ioana Sava used size 11 Toho, Miyuki drop pears and 3 mm firepolished crystals to create this bracelet.

Druse, Off Loom Bead Weaving and Fringe

I love using the Druse whenever possible in my off loom bead weaving projects. I used Peyote Stitch to encase the Druse and added several beads to adorn the Peyote Stitch.

Fringe is adorned with Kahlua Recycled Glass Lampwork, Baltic Amber Chips, Fresh Water Pearls and various glass beads from around the world.

This is a brooch which can also be worn as a pendant.
