BUTTON, BUTTON, WHO'S GOT
THE BUTTON?
Robin Atkins, is coming to the
Bead Museum on October 2, 2009. Robin is a well known bead artist,
instructor and author. Beaded buttons not only make stunning clasps
and purse closures but the techniques you learn are transferrable to other
artistic mediums, such as quilting and beading on ready-made
clothing.
Sign up now for her class, Beaded
Buttons. This is an all-day event that includes instruction on making
phenomenal beaded buttons (9-noon), a slide lecture: How Glass Button and Beads
Are Made (1-2:30) and a book signing of her books (3-5).
During this workshop you will learn some basic bead embroidery techniques, practicing them on fabric. At the end of the workshop, you will cover a metal button form with your bead embroidery to create a special and unique button. Almost all students finish their buttons in class. As a bonus, the techniques learned are very applicable to other bead embroidery projects.
