Hello! I hope your summer is going well so far. As much as I hate to even think about September during July (the kid in me dreading vacations end and schools arrival) I did want to let you know that there are still some booths and artisan tables available at THE FALL TUCSON BEST BEAD SHOW, September 11-13, 2009 (set up 9/10/09).
We are offering numerous classes,
which can be viewed at Best
Bead Show Classes, and have also paired up with the Sonoran Glass Art
Academy and Beads of Courage to present Bead Inspired, a bead making
marathon benefiting children coping with cancer and other serious illness. Part
of Bead Inspired will include a Flame Off, open to 18 flame workers on Friday
& Saturday, 9/11 & 9/12. (Lampwork artists interested in participating
can contact Alex Berger at 520-884-7814 or [email protected]).
After
conversations with the previous owners and several exhibitors, it was
unanimously felt that the event should be moved from the Convention Center (last
years location) to the KVCC - Kino Veterans Community Center (familiar
February location for past 4,000 years. OK, maybe closer to 8). Some reasons:
1. The KVCC is located closer to the Holiday Inn/Holidome, home of the G&LW Fall Event, another major Tucson draw, and is also closer to sponsoring hotels The Hampton Inn & Best Western, both offering the special rate of $69/night if code “bestbeadshow†is used and reservation made by August 7th.
2. We will only be using the Main Hall/Lobby, a smaller venue/fewer booths
than last year, which means less competition and more money per exhibitor.
3. The Kino Center has free parking, and it is the better-known, more
familiar home of the Best Bead Show. We had large banners and advertisements at
the February event announcing the new location for the September show, and there
are ads running in major national bead magazines, the Fall Show Guide, website
posts, e-mail blasts, local (Tucson) advertising, and postcard
marketing.
Again, the dates are Thursday Sept. 10th for set up and
open to the public (retail/wholesale) with FREE admission, Fri-Sun, Sept. 11-13,
2009. Contracts can be printed from: Fall
Contract
If mailing your contract with a check for your deposit,
please do so to The Best Bead Show, PO Box 4, Broomall, PA 19008 (please fax a
copy of each first, if possible, so I can secure your location asap). If faxing
with credit card information, please use 610-359-8415. Please don't delay as
space is currently available in good locations, but limited, and contracts must
be received and processed by July 23, 2009 to be included in our Fall Show
Guides exhibitor list. Thank you, and I hope to hear from
you soon!
Sincerely,
The Best Bead Show
