The TH&SG, a long-standing, active group of more than 200 Tucsonans, has been regularly presenting a joint fashion show and boutique for over 20 years.
The Guild’s interests have expanded over time to include all forms of fiber arts with a particular focus on educational programs and demonstrations targeted at schools, senior centers, and public events.
This year’s fashion show, Celebrating Fabulous Fibers, will include a raffle
unlike any seen before. Baskets and buckets of fiber-y goodness,
hard-to-find equipment and tools, spa vouchers, and holiday travel arrangements will spill out onto the beautifully arranged tables. Funds from the raffle, fashion show, and boutique help to fund the educational and outreach programs the guild specializes in.
While the boutique is open to the public, tickets for the fashion show include entry to the show and boutique as well as a luncheon with a chicken or vegetarian lasagna plate. A cash bar will be available. The event is planned for March 14, 2009 at the Holiday Inn Palo Verde, 4550 S. Palo Verde Boulevard, Tucson, AZ 85714.
The boutique will be open from 10:00 A.M - 3:00 P.M. and the guild will provide spinning and weaving technique demonstrations from 10:00 A.M. – noon. The fashion show and luncheon begin at 12:00 noon. Tickets are $30.00 per person, and March 4, 2009 is the last date for making luncheon reservations.
Raffle tickets will be available at the Raffle Table or the Boutique. Tickets are $5.00 each or five for $20.00.
Baskets are valued at $100 or more. Ticket buyers may use their tickets for a chance to win any or all baskets.
