Mr. Rosendo Carrillo de la Rosa,
indigenous Huichol artisan from Jalisco, Mexico, will showase colorful beads and
art work for two days only March 26 - 27 at The Bead Museum. Visit the Huichol
Trunk Show in the Museum lobby and learn more about the Huichol(wee-chol)
Indians, their artwork, culture and more! For centuries Huichol Indians have been beading decorative items to use
as offerings to the gods. The Huichol world is rich in symbolism and each design
motif has a spiritual meaning. Mr. de la Rosa teaches educational art programs
and has shown his art in several museums including the Mengei Museum in
Escondido, CA, and the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix, AZ. A piece of
Huichol art is unique and one-of-a- kind; a very special addition to your
collection!
