Here is a sample of just one of the classes offered at the IWC - A Conference For Fiber Artists July 30 to August 2, 2009 in Fort Lewis College Durango, Colorado.
Prescott's Mountain Spinners and Weavers enjoyed a 2 wonderful Creative Knitting Classes with Brecia here in Prescott last year.
Another class offered among so many is the Vest - Wearable Felted Landscapes by Sharon Costello.
"IWC began as Intermountain Weavers Conference in 1979 with plans to hold a regional conference in 1983. It was held at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado and a conference has been held every 2 years since then. Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah were later joined by Nevada as member states. Though we represent the intermountain region, the conference is open to all and has had attendees from all over the world. Our original Articles of Incorporation said our mission was to organize and plan a conference involving weavers, spinners, and dyers. When we recently amended those Articles we added and other fiber artists to that list. Although our name is the Intermountain Weavers Conference, we certainly go far beyond weaving" writes the Durango Calendar of events.
