Carolyn Peterson is a long time member of Arts Prescott Cooperative Gallery in Prescott, Arizona located on Historical Whiskey Row.
Carolyn is an artist with an eclectic vision of the past and the present, which is expressed through painting and printmaking. Over a period of time, themes have become apparent. "The incredible beauty of the Southwest becomes evident in 'plain air' landscapes in oil and watercolor. Love of water and riparian habitats inspire gyotaku fish prints and an ongoing series of frog montotypes. Expressing the moods of people via drawings from life in pastel and painting an abstract style make for some very pleasant day", writes Carolyn Peterson.
Here is part of the wall presented at Arts Prescott. Carolyn's expression of nature is shown in her work.
Carolyn explains printmaking with, "There are several kinds of printmaking you can do yourself without a copier or a press. Let's consider original art prints and not reproductive image making. Artist(including
Warhol, Rembrandt and Degas) have produced
'one of a kind' prints. You have seen many contemporary works but probably did not recognize them as such."
It's always special to get a greeting card which was produced by a local artist.
Here are a few of Carolyn Peterson's greeting cards found at Arts Prescott on Whiskey Row. Sending a greeting card created by one of our local artists is like sending a favor of their art.
If you love Carolyn's work you can also enjoy it in print version.
Here is just a few of what Carolyn offers. Of course, I must admit that "Bachelor Frog" shown on the left is one of my favorites. I was lucky enough to have sold the original painting when Carolyn first brought it in the gallery. A real bachelor purchased this painting for himself.
Many have enjoyed "Bachelor Frog" since then as a print.
