Creating your own Fiber Art with your own Hand Spun Yarns brings the artist a feeling of baking a pie from scratch.
Here, I spun 2 strands of Alpaca and plied one strand of Circus. Both fiber and yarn are from Louet North America.
The Medium Brown Alpaca Top comes in 1/2 pound bags. The Circus, a bulky, chunky weight yarn comes in a 50 gram ball. This yarn is 96% Wool and 4% Cotton Multi Colored.
When your create your own Hand Spun Novelty Yarn; the feeling of the painter and her brushes comes over you. You pick the colors, texture and type of Novelty Yarn you want to end up with. Sometimes I begin with an idea the the yarn takes me another direction. I do the same when creating with seed beads and my lampwork beads.
If you have not yet learned to spin your own yarn, all you need to do to take that first step ... take a spinning class at your local shop.
Many of the shops provide you with a spinning wheel during the class.
As many of you already know, I love the Abstract Knitting, and spinning the many fibers to use during this process makes every finished piece more special to me.
Of course, I add many fun novelty yarns into this process. Texture is the name of the game when it comes to Abstract Knitting along with the changing up your Knitting Stitch now and then.
Here is Louet North America's Alpaca and Cashmere fiber hand spun and plied together.
I plied 2 Alpaca strands and one strand of Cashmere.
Enjoy Knitting and all Fiber Art...
