"A Hint of Kahlua" - created using Lampwork Beads, Italian Glass Rods and Recycled Glass from a Kahlua Bottle.
Off loom Bead Weaving using size 11 seed beads was added on the top of the Brooch. One Chardonnay Drop nestles at the top along with a Vintage Bohemian Button.
At the bottom of the brooch you find two glass buttons I found at The Bead Museum. It is always an adventure to find various beads and buttons for my abstract designs.
Much of my work has memories attached to each piece. I know where I found each button or special bead. The lampwork beads are usually made the week of the creation of each piece. The process comes together and is completed in a few days.
I begin a piece with the inspiration of one or two beads and create around those beads. Sometimes I find a piece of silk and visualize what I want to do with it, go to my torch, and create a focal bead. The process begins at that time.
Once you begin collecting beads and learning some of the bead history you are hooked for sure. Enjoy the process!
