My Brother-in-law Dieter Kueck toured Peru with a group this summer 06. The photos he took represent fiber art on the island of Taquile in Titicacasee, spinning and knitting -- and they are perfect for my blog. To the left you see a family enjoying themselves and their carpets they created in a village known for its weaving north of Ollantaytambo.
Dieter's group hiked all over the island and on your right you see a man knitting the yarn which was hand spun by the woman spinning with a hand spindle. The work was divided between the men and the women. The women spun the yarn and the men knitted.
The Carpet on the right beautifies now Dieter Kueck’s office!
