Used Spinning Wheels, Bobbins, Fiber for Raggedy Ro
I am retiring all of my spinning wheels so call me at 928-899-3574. You can e-mail me at rowena@rowenaart.net if you wish to. My allergies have gotten so bad that it is no longer possible for me to spin my own yarn.
Saxony, many extra bobbins, a Roberta Electronic Spinner (new), several Right now I have this Ashford Elizabeth II, a Majacraftknitty knotties and a new Will Taylor Clever Kate. All of my spinning supplies are for sale.
This photo is the Elizabeth. These are all of my wheels which are left. They are used but in good condition.
A new improved version of the Ashford Elizabeth, it
weighs 20 lbs. and features ball bearings and a wheel with a diameter
of 24" instead of 22". Easy adjustment of the mother-of-all for
alignment. All brass fittings, scotch
tension with double drive alternate option. New higher ratios: 8.5:1, 11:1 and l5:1 for speed
spinning. Lazy Kate and 4 bobbins included. 3/8" orifice. Wood is New Zealand silverbeech. distaff
on this wheel.
This will mean changes in my life and I will miss my spinning dearly. I will still feature some fun information about spinning and fiber on this blog now an then because I enjoy this fiber art.
Tomorrow I will feature all of Hannah Hunters equipment for creating your own clay art. Hannah is not creating her Purple and Blue Pots and Dishes or her horse hair pottery any longer. She says she is moving on to doing some painting and other fun art. She will be leaving Arts Prescott at the end of this year so if you want any of her work drop by soon before it is all gone.
Have you tried only spinning plant fibers? I know one of the owners of Lorna's Laces is TERRIBLY allergic to wool and animal fibers and she has had to come up with PLANT only bases for yarn to spin! That is so sad, I hope you can find a way to keep spinning:) Good luck! j

Rowena:
Sorry to hear that you will not be spinning anymore. I am fortunate to have some of your "FINE RAGGEDY RO." You were so talented in embracing and making such beautiful yarn and beautiful projects. Hope that your allergies get better.

Hello,
I have bought a flyer off of ebay. It doesn't have a Bobbin with it. There are no markes on the flyer. It does have a metal shaft with screw threads on the end of the shaft. There are 9 small hooks on only one side of theflyer. From out side to out side the arms measure 4" at the open end. From one end of the shaft to the other measures 10 1/2". From the shaft that touches the inside center flyer to where the screw threads begin is 6 1/4". There is a little metal rim around the back of the shaft before the orifice about 1/8th of an inch deep. The shaft it's self is 3/8 inch. If you need a picture of it I can send one. Thank you for your help.
