Yesterday, I began a new Abstract Knitting project using some of my favorite yarns.
Louet North America's Bonnie - 94% Wool /6% Silk - is pictured along side a piece of my Abstract Knitting project.
What makes the Abstract Knitting fun is you begin to knit and just go any direction with any knitting stitch you enjoy or feel like doing at the time.
Colors are what is important in any knitting project and Abstract Knitting is not different.
Here you can see the Bonnie which is Color #8 Bulky/Chunky Weight knitted along the edge and turned 90 degrees into the Black Diamond Bamboo.
I used a #11 US needle size on Bonnie and #8 US on the Bamboo Black Diamond.
It would be great if you could feel each fiber in this piece.
You are looking at just one part of this scarf, which I hope to finish this week.
The knitting needles size US #8 are in the corner of the photo, where I began using Circus 96% Wool / 4% Cotton Multi Colored Yarn.
Circus, is a Bulky/Chunky Yarn and, of course, comes from Louet North America. I have seen this yarn felt wonderfully and give some great texture to any project.
Black Diamond Bamboo is a yarn that has been featured in my blog quite often. What can I say, I like this fiber.
Here is my hand spun Black Diamond being knitted into my scarf. What I love about this fiber is it's so soft. Texture along side of super soft makes for such a dramatic piece.
The lovely blue yarn is Clyde 95% Wool / 5%Silk multi colored yarn. A #8US needle size is used on Clyde which created a dense texture of wool and silk.
The Lace Knit Turquoise is hand dyed - Hand Spun Optim Top which is 100%16 micron Wool Fiber.
Optim is a fun fiber to spin. The softness of the Wool is indescribable. Once you have spun it you will see for yourself.
Check with your local shops for all of the fiber and yarn in my blog this morning and inquire about learning the Abstract Knitting. They will help you get started on this project.
