Weavezine.com - A Weaving Magazine
I opened my e-mail this week and read one from Loom N Essence. http://www.loomnessence.net/, Sharon Poplawski sent a link to this outstanding web weave magazine.
Sharing information among spinners and weavers makes this whole process more fun.
www.weavezine.com is a weaving magazine on-line and it is worth checking into.
This scarf was created by Nancy Alegria. "Chocolate Mint Swirl" is created with naturally dyed yarns from Hand Jive Knits. Spring Green and Chocolate was used and that is where the name of this 8 shaft color-and-weave pinwheel twill came from. You will find more of this story and the pattern on www.weavezine.com.
The blue table runner was made by Kate Jantz.
The Red Wrap created by Syne Mitchell is also in the on-line weaving magazine.
Techniques such as Weaver-Manipulated Lace Weaves by Robyn Spady as well as designing with Turned-Weft Ikat by Bonnie Tarses is in this issue.
The one thing that I found that looks like it would be loved by many of our Prescott Fiber Artist is how to decorate your loom by William Koepp. Koepp writes, "It's been done by weavers for centuries. Look at photos and drawings of old looms, and you'll see carvings, inlays, stenciling and other embellishments."
I can't wait to hear your comments on this on-line weaving magazine! Happy Weaving!
Thank you for a great review!
