Crayon Box Jacket - Beads - Patricia Brockert and Dian Moore
The Crayon Box Jacket is still a favorite of mine. This knitted pattern written by Christine Bylsma allows the knitter to design the squares with their favorite colors, texture, and types of yarns.
The black tone knitted jacket was created by Patricia Brockert.
She added beads knitting them into the squares randomly. Here at the shoulder you see two eye beads. These black and Whites called Skunk Beads are a favorite of bead
collectors.
At the cuff Patricia added White Hearts. These White Hearts are red lampwork beads with a layer of white glass in the center.
Black Eye Lash Yarn was added around the cuffs, neck and front of this Crayon Jacket.
Dian Moore knitted the same Bylsma Pattern using Pastels. Dian is a beader, fiber artist and quilter. She is a founding member of the High Desert Bead Society here in Prescott.
Check Dian's blog for more fiber and bead creations.
This crayon box jacket is so much fun to make. One of the greatest things about it is you can use your "stash" yarn to make it. We all have our favorite colors and shades and textures of yarn. It's surprising what you can come up with. You can start this crayon jacket by going to the Fiber Shop every other Thursday, on Sweater Thursday, and sit with the fun ladies and knit and laugh. It's good for the soul.
